Our 2015 next plot is anytime instructor competition is underway and in this video we'll review this year's exercises and guidelines and it also offers some filming tips that will help increase the quality of your submission videos. The five reformer exercises for this competition are pulling straps, backstroke, teaser, semi-circle and kneeling. Chest expansion variations or modifications of these exercises will not be accepted, so please make sure the student in your video is advanced enough to do these exercises safely. Do you will now demonstrate the full version of the ejector size and I will explain what is accepted for pulling straps. We would like to see two versions. Some schools call it pulling straps, one and two others call it pulling straps and T pole.

These do not include extra exercises like the tricep press that is sometimes done at the end. We considered this variation for backstroke. We just wanted to see one direction. Please do not include the reverse as we will consider that a variation as well. During teaser, we are looking for just the actual teaser without the arm variation. There are many different art variations so we want to keep it simple with just the roll up into teaser and the roll down.

We also want to keep the leg simple by having them stay straight the entire time. They will lift as you roll up into your teaser and lower as you roll down for semi-circle. We would like to see both directions. We know some schools keep the foot bar up and others keep it down so you are free to do the exercise the way you were taught during kneeling, chest expansion. The only requirement we have is that your student is kneeling on both knees. Most of us are not professional video makers, but there are three key filming tips that anyone can follow which will add a professional level of quality to your submission video location.

A static camera in good audio location should have enough space to move around and should either be full of natural light from the windows or have all the lights turned on to be as bright as possible. You generally want to avoid standing in front of large windows is it often makes you hard to see. Find an empty, clean background like a wall so our judges can focus on you and not the busy background. You should film your video in one take of possible so you won't need to edit it later. Try to avoid using a handheld camera because it can make the image shaky. It's best to use a tripod or something. You can prop your camera or your phone on. If you are using a phone, you want to make sure that you are in landscape mode rather than portrait mode.

Our last tip is actually the most important. You need to have good audio. Make sure all the doors and windows are closed and the phone and radio are turned off. The quieter your location, the better audio you'll record. Aside from that, just speak loud and clear as you teach. Unless you happen to have a microphone close by. The first thing you should do in your videos, introduce yourself and say where you're from.

You should introduce your student and state their level as well. We recommend you use another instructor for your model, but if you decide not to use a teacher, make sure your student is advanced enough for these exercises without modifications. Luckily for me, JIA heres a PMA certified [inaudible] instructor. Our rules require you to teach five reformer exercises to one student. Please make sure your student has warmed up because these are not exercises you do at the beginning of a workout. Safety is very important and as part of the criteria that the judges will use to pick the finalists. While the transitions are not required, they can be nice to keep things smooth and flowing.

After you have finished teaching all of your exercises, it's nice to add a closing remark by repeating your name or saying thank you. The judges will use the following criteria to pick the finalists as they watch your submissions. Number one is safety. Have you chosen a client who is in an inappropriate level for these exercises? Are you mindful of your own posture while supporting your client? Number two is knowledge. Do you demonstrate an understanding of the [inaudible]?

Method? Number three is presence. Are you able to be confident and natural on camera? Number four is awareness. Are you able to balance teaching to the body in front of you? Still being aware of the audience that's watching and number five is communication. Are you able to clearly communicate your cues to your client? After filming, you need to upload your video to YouTube.

If you film your video in one take, all you have to do is trim the beginning and the end so we don't see you turn the camera on and off. There are a few ways to do this. You can use your phones, editing features, your computers, video player or YouTube editing tools which we have included in the links below. Your video must be between four and 10 minutes. If your video is over 10 minutes, you will need to edit it down because that will disqualify your application. We recommend practicing and timing yourself before you film to make sure that your video will be within the required timeframe. Once your video has been uploaded to YouTube, copy the link in the web browser and pasted on your application and Claudia's anytime.com the deadline for all applications is May 31st, 2015 here's a recap of our filming tips. Number one, find a quiet and well lit location to film.

Number two, shoot a static wide shot. And number three, make sure your audio is loud and clear. Make sure you follow the content guidelines by only teaching one student the following exercises, pulling straps, backstroke, teaser, semi-circle, and kneeling. Chest expansion without variations or modifications. For more detailed information about this competition, visit [inaudible] anytime.com thank you so much and good luck in the competition.
