Advanced Assessment Skills

Brent Anderson - Advanced Assessment Skills SOLD OUT

Join Brent Anderson in person, on Monday, February 16, 2015 as he teaches in Carpinteria, California.

This workshop will provide the teacher with basic skills in a static and dynamic postural assessment. The focus will be structural alignment in functional activities (e.g. squatting, walking, rolling, and reaching). Emphasis will be placed on how Pilates exercises can influence asymmetries of the head, neck, trunk, and pelvis in clients with common conditions like *hip or knee replacements and chronic back pain. It will include Polestar's Postural Assessment, identifying key anatomical landmarks to improve the teacher's eye in assessing symmetries and asymmetries that are common to many clients. Because alignment is a key principle in Pilates work, it is essential to develop a keen eye and a deeper understanding to assess which postural variances will produce the greatest change in clients' performance and overall outcome. Attention will be given to exercise prescription for the Pilates professional based on results of assessments demonstrated in the workshop.

*The actual conditions assessed will be determined by student participation.

Comments

I'm so excited to purchase this workshop online. I'm also sure that many Pilates instructors would be thrilled to be one of the 15 participants. Please PA, make sure there are plenty of participants that reflect what most instructors experience in the studio, not just instructors working with instructors. Thank you!
