What originally motivated you to try Pilates?
I was fortunate enough to have a friend going through
STOTT Pilates® training at the same time I was planning my wedding. She offered me ten sessions as a wedding gift and I was
hooked! After my first ten sessions I saw changes in my body. I knew I had to keep Pilates in my life forever.
The last thing you bought and loved?
Well, I just bought and completed the Cancer Exercise Specialist certification. It was such an information-packed training. I loved it!
In one word, describe your first Pilates experience?
Enlightening.
Your favorite Pilates exercise?
Open Leg Rocker.
Your favorite website (other than Pilates Anytime)?
Pinterest. It’s amazing what ideas can come from a little time on Pinterest.
Your favorite workout clothes?
Stelari,
Spiritual Gangster, and
Lululemon.
How did you hear about Pilates Anytime?
I don’t recall how I originally found out that Pilates Anytime existed, but I know once I stumbled upon it I was so happy to have access to so many great Instructors. I use Pilates Anytime as a tool for my Teacher Trainers as well.
The last song you purchased?
Ride by Twenty One Pilots
Do you practice a particular style of Pilates?
I am the furthest from a “Pilates Snob” as they come. I love and respect all styles and the purpose they serve in our community. I like to promote the benefits of all programs. I teach and primarily practice a more contemporary approach, but highlight the classical executions often. I love Pilates.
How do you use Pilates Anytime?
Motivation, fitspiration, education, and admiration.
Do you have a motto?
Don’t knock it till you try it.
The living person you most admire?
My mom. She has experienced loss and life hurdles that never break her spirit. She might be the most positive person I know.
What do you appreciate most about your body?
Now that I am 40 I have learned to appreciate the body I have been given in general. It might have taken 40 years, but this machine has really never let me down.
An indulgence you would never forgo?
Umm.. movie theater popcorn. Even when I am full I will always find a few cracks to fill with buttery, hot popcorn.
The book on your bedside table?
The Adrenal Reset Diet. (I know, not very juicy. But
very interesting stuff)
What was your most memorable journey?
Marriage to motherhood. I don’t think there is any amount of advice or preparation that can determine the emotional rollercoaster life has offered since I said “I do.” Best. Ride. Ever.
