Our Plans for 2021

I start every day by reading the news. Yesterday was the worst day for coronavirus cases here in California, where the New York Times reported 31,782 new cases on Wednesday, December 9, 2020. I fear we may see that record broken. The surge in new cases associated with people meeting for Thanksgiving is happening and a second surge may happen as a result of people meeting for Christmas and New Year. The impact on humanity makes me so sad.

The COVID-19 virus has now killed over 1.5 million people. In addition to those that have died, there are a large number of people that are reporting long-term effects (so-called “Long Haulers”). We have all been impacted by the virus, we have lost loved ones or witnessed the health impacts. My heart goes out to everyone and I send a virtual hug.

The mental health impacts of this pandemic are terrible. If like me you have experienced the dark side of your personality, I feel your pain. My Pilates and yoga practices have helped me and I encourage you to maintain a regular practice.

The great news is that vaccines are coming, and we can start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I hope that in 2021 we will all have the opportunity to be vaccinated.

I do not expect that life will return to the way it was before the virus. I hope the world will be a better place, where we care more for each other. I so look forward to the opportunity to meet my friends in person, share food, and travel.

As the CEO of Timeshift Media, the company that owns Pilates Anytime and Yoga Anytime, I have responsibility for the well being of our employees and the teachers we work with. My goal has been, and remains, to ensure that nobody that works for, or with us, catches coronavirus as a result of that relationship.

To keep everyone safe we closed our office on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, and have been working from home since then. Our studio has been dark for most of the pandemic and on the few occasions we filmed, we socially distanced, wore masks, limited the number of people on the set, limited the time we spent in the studio, and had all the doors and windows open. As the pandemic worsened we closed the studio for filming.

Despite closing the studio, we have continued to create great content by sending filming equipment to teachers all over the world and filming outside. The team has stepped up to the challenges of remote filming and we really appreciate the amazing teachers that helped make remote production happen.

During 2021 we will be filming amazing content. About half will be streamed live, and the remainder will be recorded and released. I am very excited about our New Year’s offerings. On Pilates Anytime we will be hosting a Four Week Live Pilates Event and on Yoga Anytime a New Year's Live Yoga Retreat.

Please do not expect us to be filming from the studio until it is safe to do so. We do not know when that will be, but I hope before the summer. We will continue to produce and release new content despite the pandemic. We hope you enjoy everything we produce. If you have requests please contact us, we love hearing from everyone.

Thank you for being a member of our community. Please stay safe, the end is in sight and we will be able to socialize soon.

My toast for 2021: It has to be better than 2020.

From the team at Timeshift Media we wish you a healthy and happy 2021.

I am very thankful for how quickly PA pivoted in March.  I spent the better part of the year improving my mat practice live with some of my favorite teachers, while still having access to all of my favorite reformer classes.   I look forward to what you have coming up in 2021 and thank you all for all you did in 2020.  PA remains my favorite site on the internet.   I wish you all health and happiness.

Been so important to us to have these classes to keep us fit and sane! Rose & Alastair Edinburgh, Scotland!
The classes are always offering something fresh. I love to make time for my own practice and am amazed by how much I can learn from any of the wonderful teaching team. As a teacher I like to share with my clients what I have learned in order to keep teaching inspirational and fun. Keep up the wonderful work.
Thank you the update.  Pilates Anytime has been my professional life-line for inspiration, education and virtual friendship these last several months.  Keep up the good work and know your efforts are greatly appreciated.  May everyone at Pilates Anytime remain health and happy in 2021.

Thank you for all the live classes in 2020. They put a smile on my face as well as keeping me mentally and physically strong. It was great to work out with some of my favourite teachers. I missed them when they stopped. I'm looking forward to making time for the new live classes - loved last week's routines. Well done to to you all and a Happy New Year.

Your Santa Barbara studio is beautiful but I haven't missed it.  I've found the workouts presented in instructors' homes and garages more involving.  The studio might help you identify with arriving at class.  With most of your customers not going to a studio right now, basements and living rooms are the right place to be teaching from.  If anything, Pilates Anytime upped its game with going more intimate.

I've been a member from almost the beginning and have always appreciated Pilates Anytime. But my gratitude for PA has reached new heights, especially as the new classes just keep coming! I love the intimacy and resilience of this new model and the introduction to new instructors, at a time when my own world feels so limited. While we all were ready to move on from 2020, I hope everyone at PA sees what they have done during that time as an incredible accomplishment.
