Love, love , love--and my muscles, bones, fascia, body parts all appreciated being asked their opinions throughout. They're not going to shut up now with this level of inquiry. Sheesh.
REALLY enjoyed this class and short spine felt like a new exercise. Also thought the pelvic rotations added to side splits were a great addition. I'm also of the opinion that our role as teachers is to empower students to have better awareness of their movements, so the cueing tips were great. As with the mat class and "show notes" for further reading on where you get your inspiration for this class from would be much appreciated!
Hi Vanisha - thank you for commenting & your support. I’m Glad you enjoyed the class. A lot of the work I do is from my own experimentation / exploration ... some places I find inspiration are: Kathy Grant work, The work of Katy Bowman, Erwan LeCorre, Mike Fitch (Animal Flow), GMB, Carl Rogers (Humanistic Psychology), Stephen Porges (Polyvagal), John Sharkey, and playtime anywhere & everywhere. Ha!
I absolutely love your teaching style, James. I went to your seminar at the PMA Conference this year, and really think your ability to allow space for individuals to find his/her own movement experience is unique and inspiring. Thank you for your work. I look forward to learning more from you.
