Alisa has been teaching Pilates since 1999 when she left her high-powered publishing job to spread her passion for Pilates. A Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher, she's a featured expert for Pilates Style Magazine.
Alisa is a Pilates purist who was trained and certified by Pilates legend, Romana Kryzanowska, in New York City, where she ran a highly successful studio for a decade before moving home to California. To hone her craft, Alisa has sought out training from those who were taught to be teachers by Joseph Pilates himself. She studied extensively with Kathy Grant in New York, and she currently trains with one of the few remaining teachers who worked for Joseph Pilates, Jay Grimes.
Alisa trains athletes and civilians alike: from professional beach volleyball players, moms, executives, top models, and actors. In addition to teaching at her studio in Hermosa Beach, California, Alisa holds retreats to allow people to get away on a relaxing vacation and get in shape at the same time.
When she's not traveling the globe, Alisa spends her time in Hermosa Beach, California, where she and her husband, Jack, get outside as much as possible to surf, hike, and play. Alisa and Jack believe that Pilates is what allows them to lead active, healthy lives.
