Description

Work - Rest - Play - Pilates

Pilates Day 2015 is approaching, and this year, we want to honor Pilates instructors. Thanks to your hard work and dedication, more people are seeing the value of having Pilates in their lives.

Lesley Logan worked in retail before becoming a Pilates instructor. She saw how easy it was for people to spend money on material things rather than their health. Now, as a Pilates instructor, she encourages her students to invest in their bodies.

Thank you Westwood Pilates for allowing us to film at your studio.

So I was in retail, spent my days selling $5,000 handbags. And it was so funny because it was so easy for people just to like drop $300 on jeans. We don't push too much that you're supposed to spend money on your health. So you spend tons of money on your car and you spend tons of money on things and items and objects and that's just how you're trained. So I think a lot of people don't understand and are not comfortable with putting that money into themselves as an investment. That's what, that's where I come in. I feel as an instructor, it's my job to explain to them, you know, [inaudible] is something you're adding to your budget, but you won't even need to buy a new pair of jeans cause you're going to look so good on the ones you already owned.

The more people that do Pilati is the more we change the way society thinks about spending money and we can get people to spend more money on things that are healthy and life changing rather than things that are just objects and go out of style. I'm Leslie Logan. I'm from Los Angeles, California, and I'm a [inaudible] instructor. [inaudible].

Preach it girl! I work as a physical therapist assistant and have encountered most everyone in my clinic who love the reformers we use but are very reluctant to spend $25 a session. I tell them, "This is your health! Preventative maintenance is cheaper than being hospitalized and receiving expensive treatment."
Thank you Courtney! Let's keep up the encouragement. More and more people will hopefully see that strengthening their body through pilates is preventative. Necessary!
