Work - Rest - Play - Pilates

Pilates Day 2015 is approaching, and this year, we want to honor Pilates instructors. Thanks to your hard work and dedication, more people are seeing the value of having Pilates in their lives.

Back pain led Judy Cocke to Pilates, and she became an instructor because she wanted others to feel as good as she did. She talks about how she loves to watch people move and how satisfying it is to see them progress in their practice.

Thank you to Everybody's Pilates for allowing us to film at your studio.

I hurt my back when I was 18 years old and I heard it in dance class and as years went on, my back pain became worse and worse. I kept looking for things to help make me stronger, thinking that my back pain would get better. And then when I found [inaudible], this is it. This is it for me. It's what's making me feel so great. And I was in such a great mood because I wasn't in pain anymore. My husband was really happy and he gladly paid money for PyLadies, which brings me why I became an instructor. I find plotting is so satisfying. I love watching people move.

I love the look on people's faces when they move and when they've accomplished some something they didn't think they could accomplish and they've watched themselves progress through the work. That is probably the most satisfying thing to me. I'm Judy coke. I'm from Redondo Beach and I am flight instructor.
