Pilates Long Box at the Beach

When it comes to relaxing and just hanging on the beach, you can have too much of a good thing. At some point, we all need to move.
If you find yourself beachside or poolside this summer and in need of a Pilates fix, it may be time to get creative. Try this fun - don't laugh! - apparatus substitution: turn your ordinary beach cooler into an extraordinary piece of Pilates equipment - the Long Box!

Here are 5 Pilates exercises on the Long Box that you can do on your beach cooler:

1,2. Pulling Straps (Part 1 & 2)

3. Backstroke

Tip: Use water bottles in each hand to create resistance and feedback.

4. Teaser

5. Short Box Series (Just change the position of your cooler!)

Tip: Instead of a baton or dowel, use a shovel, or twist a beach towel, and pull it tight at each end.

When your workout is over, hop off your Long Box, grab a cold beverage, and head to the water knowing you didn't skip a day of your Pilates practice.
