What originally motivated you to try Pilates?
Having danced for 22 years I have always been a fan of movement and exercise. I had tried every form of exercise and movement out there (besides dance) and didn’t like anything. It wasn’t until I injured my back and hip that I decided to give Pilates a try and (of course) fell in love with the work. I felt taller, tighter, and stronger almost immediately, and I knew this is what I needed in my life.
The last thing you bought and loved?
My new French Connection gym bag that was on sale for only $19.99 at Marshalls, which was originally $158! I love a good deal!
In one word, describe your first Pilates experience?
Love.
Your favorite Pilates exercise?
Just one? Well, I would have to say Footwork! It makes me feel strong and I get to workout on my back!
Your favorite website (other than Pilates Anytime)?
Prevention, where you might find some awesome workouts and articles done by me!
Your favorite workout clothes?
KDW Apparel for when I’m feeling sassy, and Athleta because the fit is über awesome!
How did you hear about Pilates Anytime?
Pilates Anytime is everywhere, but heard about it from Pilates Style Magazine first!
The last song you purchased?
Lee Brice – Hard to Love – this country girl is a little bit obsessed with country music!
Do you practice a particular style of Pilates?
Just Pilates. ;)
How do you use Pilates Anytime?
I use it when I am feeling stale and need some motivation. I also use it for Mat classes for my own practice at home!
Do you have a motto?
Stop doing s**t you hate and make time for “me time!" No excuses!
The living person you most admire?
My little sister. She is the strongest, most positive and happy little thing there is. She’s also one hell of a Pilates instructor and studio manager too!
What do you appreciate most about your body?
That I am the strongest I’ve ever been and I can do things now that I couldn’t do in my twenties!
An indulgence you would never forgo?
Cheese, Martinis, and a chance to travel to new places!
The book on your bedside table?
The Dip: A Little Book That Teaches You When to Quit (and When to Stick) by Seth Godin.
What was your most memorable journey?
My most memorable journey is everyday, owning two studios. It has been seven years so far, and I feel like the journey is never ending. I am never done learning or growing.
