Mind - Body - Breath - Pilates

In anticipation for Pilates Day, Saturday, May 7, 2016, we are promoting how Pilates helps you do the activities you love, without pain. These videos are available for anyone to share to encourage more people to do Pilates!

Our final video features Rebecca Kahane, who had a prophylactic mastectomy about ten years ago. Breast cancer runs in her family, so while her son was in middle school, Rebecca made the choice for elective surgery because she didn’t want the chance of leaving her son without a mother.

Post surgery was difficult and painful. She is passionate as a licensed marriage and family therapist, but spending every day sitting did not help her recovery.

One day Rebecca walked into the Pilates studio around the block from her office because she liked the look of the building, the machines, and the people inside. That was seven years ago. Now Rebecca practices Pilates every week. She’s even taking Polestar Pilates teacher training to give her a better understanding of the Pilates method. She cannot live without Pilates in her life. It’s her preventative medicine, her recovery method, and her new habit.
