Kristi, I have signed up for a mat class with Cara for later this month. I'm going to try to arrange to take more classes with her and at her studio. You are right it is an opportunity. I just need to arrange to take it! Thanks so much for the encouragement!
This is the kind of instruction I have been looking for! I love her corrections and detailed instructions, it really helps you connect to the intention of the exercise.
Great class!! I love Cara's teaching so much because she puts extension exercises everywhere, not just towards the end. I find that in other "classical" styles I have to pause and do a couple of swans just to keep going. Too much flexion is not good for me. Quick question about your cue to "not tuck the bra line"...would you mind explaining this a little? Do you mean not over -rounding the thoracic spine?
Thanks for your note. Yes that is exactly what I mean. I find that too many folks are pushing back and over flexing their T. spines. I agree, too much flexion is not good for most folks, especially women middle age and up. I teach more extension for most. The key is teaching extension well. This is why in The Kathy Grant work we spend so much time understanding the head lifts in all directions. Enjoy your journey. Best , Cara
